Today, in honor of the winter solstice, we watched a short clip about January Kisepisim (The Great Moon) and learned how Indigenous Peoples understood the world by carefully observing nature. We then went on a community walk where students documented the signs of winter they observed around us.
We also began learning about the elements of a story by reading Sneezy the Snowman and sequencing the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Classroom learning updates like this will be shared weekly on Fridays so families can stay connected to what we are learning in class.
